<p>Yesterday (March 22, 2023) the package finally arrived!</p>

<p>Great customer service from Trebleet and even though China is far from<br>Finland, the delivery was quick.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">PRODUCT DESCRIPTION</h2>

<p>From Trebleet´s website<br>ttps://www.trebleet.com/product-page/mac-mini-thunderbolt-3-dock-with-nvme-sata-slot-cfexpress-card-slot-silver</p>

<p>Thunderbolt 3 Docking Station for Mac Mini [SILVER], comes with NVMe /<br>SATA Slot (Up to 2800Mbps), 4X USB 3.1 Ports (10Gbps) , CFexpress / TF /<br>SD Card Readers. It supports daisy chains (up to 5 units).</p>

<p>3x USB-A (10 Gbps) (5V@3A)<br>1x USB-C(10 Gbps) (5V@3A)<br>1x NVMe PCIe Gen 3 x4 Expansion Slot (PCIe 3.0) (Up to 2,800MB/s)<br>1x 2.5&#8243; SATA Expansion Socket (Up to 500 MB/s)<br>1x CFexpress Type-B Card Slot<br>1x UHS-II SD4.0 / TF Card Slot<br>1x DC 60-watt power jack (12V/5A)<br>1x Thunderbolt 3 daisy-chain port</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">GENERAL APPEARANCE</h2>

<p>The package is a rather rough, OEM-type brown box, with the Trebleet logo<br>on the top and the most important information on the back. On the other hand,<br>who is looking at that box, so the product inside is the most important.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img fetchpriority="high" decoding="async" width="640" height="480" src="https://olliovaskainen.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/IMG_3998.jpeg" alt="" class="wp-image-140" srcset="https://olliovaskainen.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/IMG_3998.jpeg 640w, https://olliovaskainen.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/IMG_3998-300x225.jpeg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px" /></figure>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img decoding="async" width="640" height="480" src="https://olliovaskainen.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/IMG_4001.jpeg" alt="" class="wp-image-141" srcset="https://olliovaskainen.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/IMG_4001.jpeg 640w, https://olliovaskainen.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/IMG_4001-300x225.jpeg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px" /></figure>

<p>The dock itself is really high-quality and attention has also been paid to the underside.<br>Usually, in similar products, the underside is plastic, as in the last tested Qwiizlab product.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="640" height="480" src="https://olliovaskainen.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/IMG_4003.jpeg" alt="" class="wp-image-142" srcset="https://olliovaskainen.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/IMG_4003.jpeg 640w, https://olliovaskainen.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/IMG_4003-300x225.jpeg 300w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px" /></figure>

<p>This immediately gives a very high-quality feeling about the product.<br>The cover is apparently acrylic? and it is protected by a thin plastic film that<br>must be removed. However, it is very difficult to get it off, but after scratching for a while,<br>it did come off.</p>

<blockquote class="wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow">
<p>Remove the thin plastic film from the top of the dock before use.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">INSTALLATION</h2>

<p>On <a href="https://www.trebleet.com/forum/tb3-mac-mini-dock/ssd-heatsink-s-cooler-s-in-the-market-that-fits-in-our-mac-mini-dock-perfectly-should-you-decide-to-get-an-extra-heatsink" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Trebleet&#8217;s forum</a>, it was mentioned that you can put a heatsink cooler in the nvme board,<br>and there was also a suitable model mentioned there.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="640" height="480" src="https://olliovaskainen.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/IMG_4012.jpeg" alt="" class="wp-image-148" srcset="https://olliovaskainen.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/IMG_4012.jpeg 640w, https://olliovaskainen.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/IMG_4012-300x225.jpeg 300w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px" /></figure>

<p>So I had already ordered <a href="https://www.bequiet.com/en/accessories/m-2-ssd-cooler/2249" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">be quiet!</a> heatsink that I installed on the Samsung 970 EVO PLUS board.<br>It fits perfectly and the bottom door also closes. I still haven&#8217;t received an answer from Trebleet about whether it is<br>recommended to keep the door open or closed with this cooler?</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="640" height="480" src="https://olliovaskainen.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/IMG_4013.jpeg" alt="" class="wp-image-150" srcset="https://olliovaskainen.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/IMG_4013.jpeg 640w, https://olliovaskainen.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/IMG_4013-300x225.jpeg 300w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px" /></figure>

<p>Trebleet´s dock with Mac Mini M1</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="640" height="480" src="https://olliovaskainen.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/IMG_4020.jpeg" alt="" class="wp-image-153" srcset="https://olliovaskainen.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/IMG_4020.jpeg 640w, https://olliovaskainen.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/IMG_4020-300x225.jpeg 300w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px" /></figure>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">SPEED TEST</h2>

<p>M.2 SSD speed test (Samsung EVO PLUS 2TB).</p>

<p>If you look at the list on <a href="https://www.trebleet.com/forum/thunderbolt-3-usb-ssd-chassis/latest-ssd-compatible-list" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Trebleet&#8217;s forum</a>, SAMSUNG EVO PLUS is not on the supported list. However, it appears to work excellently,<br>and there are no complaints about the speed either.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="684" height="708" src="https://olliovaskainen.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/trebleet_speed_test.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-154" srcset="https://olliovaskainen.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/trebleet_speed_test.jpg 684w, https://olliovaskainen.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/trebleet_speed_test-290x300.jpg 290w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 684px) 100vw, 684px" /></figure>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">SUMMARY</h2>

<p>Trebleet is still a relatively unknown manufacturer and there is not much information or reviews about their products. I made the purchase decision based on<br>feedback from users of the MacRumors forum, as well as Trebleet&#8217;s great customer service, which convinced me.</p>

<p>So far there is nothing bad to say about the product and I am very satisfied with my purchase and the quality of the product.</p>

<p>If something bad has to be said now, it&#8217;s that the device is quite expensive at $299. However, the experience and quality so far supports that high price.</p>

<p>The device gets a full five stars at this point!</p>

<span class="fsrs"><span class="fsrs-stars"><i class="fsrs-fas fa-fw fa-star "></i><i class="fsrs-fas fa-fw fa-star "></i><i class="fsrs-fas fa-fw fa-star "></i><i class="fsrs-fas fa-fw fa-star "></i><i class="fsrs-fas fa-fw fa-star "></i></span><span class="hide fsrs-text fsrs-text__hidden" aria-hidden="false">5.0 out of 5.0 stars</span><span class="lining fsrs-text fsrs-text__visible" aria-hidden="true">5.0</span></span>

<p></p>

<p>However, let&#8217;s continue testing and I&#8217;ll update my thoughts here.</p>

<p>Thanks to Trebleet for a great product!</p>

<p>Please also take a look at my short video on Youtube. Thanks!</p>

<p>This rubber is little pit sloppy.. Why they just add screw here?</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image"><img decoding="async" src="https://olliovaskainen.com/ovaskol/kuvat/Mac/UH25_Max/IMG_3920.jpeg" alt=""/></figure>

<p>I attach both USB-C cables in my Mac mini and HDMI (UH25) my second screen and main screen is attached directly to Mac mini&#8217;s HDMI.</p>

<p>&#8211; Both screens seems to work -&gt; OK</p>

<p>&#8211; recognises M.2 SSD -&gt; OK</p>

<p>&#8211; I Attach Samsung T5 in UH25 USB-C port -&gt; seems to work OK</p>

<p>But why all leds are on? SATA HDD led is also on, but there is nothing installed?</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">First problems</h2>

<p>I copy my data in M.2 drive and everything goes ok (200-300Gb folders).<br>Last big folder about 760Gb is almost done and M.2 drive disconnects and I need to reboot my Mac.<br>Now drive disconnect all the time and finally I cannot see that drive att all..&nbsp;</p>

<p>I disconnect Samsung T5 and try to copy data in my network backup.<br>Drive still disconnecting when I copy data.</p>

<p>Support say &#8220;use external power&#8221; but then I loose UH25 HDMI port. </p>

<blockquote class="wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow">
<p>UH25 Max does not actually need an external power supply when both internal HDD and SSD are working in the mean time. However, if you insist on connecting it to an external power supply through the USB-C port on the rear of UH25 Max labelled as Host 2, you will lose the function of connecting it to external monitors through DP or HDMI port on rear of UH25 Max.</p>

<p>I test with external power (Apple 5v power supply. Also I try powered USB-A hub and 18W, output 12v external power supply), but nothing help.</p>

<p>I sent screenshots, videos and logs to the support and then they refund my order.</p>

<p>Support answer: </p>

<blockquote class="wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow">
<p>Technical team figures out the power management solution (chips and resistors) in this product may need to be improved. They will study it thoroughly and fix it in the next version of product.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Lets look inside&#8230;</h2>

<p>Once the warranty is over, when the device is defective, you have to look inside.</p>

<p>the screws can be found under the rubber feet</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image"><img decoding="async" src="https://olliovaskainen.com/ovaskol/kuvat/Mac/UH25_Max/IMG_3948.jpeg" alt=""/></figure>

<figure class="wp-block-image"><img decoding="async" src="https://olliovaskainen.com/ovaskol/kuvat/Mac/UH25_Max/IMG_3947.jpeg" alt=""/></figure>

<p>After the screws have been removed, the bottom plate can be easily removed by gently cranking.</p>

<p>The text MC25Pro on the circuit board refer to the Hagibis hub with a quick google?</p>

<p>There were no surprises inside the device, and I think the device is quite well built.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Summary</h2>

<p>After all everything else seems to work fine, so only M.2 is unstable. I copy data SATA SSD and there was not any issues. Qwiizlab UH25 Max will be a very good product as long as the M.2 problem is fixed!</p>

<p>However, due to problems, the device only gets two and a half stars. If the M.2 bus worked properly, the device would be worth four and a half stars.</p>
